Meet our Leadership Team
Interim Pastor, Teaching Elder (ARP)
A native of Knoxville, TN, Matt studied at Wake Forest University and Reformed Theological Seminary before coming to Greenville in 2007 to serve on staff at Greenville ARP Church, where he then served as the senior pastor from 2008-2017. He now serves as the Executive Director of Erskine Theological Seminary–Greenville, and as the City Director of the C. S. Lewis Institute–Greenville. He and his wife, Lindsay, have three children: Elise (6), Davis (4) and Owen (2). We are thrilled to have Matt serve our church as interim pastor.
Assistant Pastor, Teaching Elder
Andrew grew up in upstate New York, though he can pronounce "y'all" with the best of them. After graduating from Davidson College with a degree in Religion, Andrew served with Reformed University Fellowship for two years as an intern at Duke University. He received his Masters of Divinity from Covenant Seminary in 2015, and joined Redeemer’s pastoral staff the following summer. Andrew enjoys golf, running, the Golden State Warriors, and all things made with thoughtful care. He and his wife, Amanda, have two daughters (Emma and Cora).
Calvin joined Redeemer in 2007 while studying Psychology and English at Furman University, where he graduated in 2010. After moving away to Denver for a few years to earn a Masters in Counseling, Calvin and his wife, Jessie, moved back to the Upstate in 2013. Calvin runs a counseling practice in Travelers Rest, and Jessie works as a labor and delivery nurse at Greenville Memorial. Calvin spends much of his free time with his two fun-loving children Truman and Ruby, but he also loves to fly fish, write/perform music, and watch (admittedly) weird films. Given his druthers, he'd spend even more time traveling, speaking in public, spending time outside, and perfecting a home studio for recording music.
Scott grew up in Greenville, was schooled locally, and is now a CPA. Sushi for lunch and a strong bike ride up Paris mountain in his off hours help make a good day better. Who knew accountants weren't just about numbers? Though a committed and hard worker, if he had his druthers (and could do so in good conscience), he'd spend every weekend with his wife, Heather, and three kids split between the beach and backpacking in the mountains.
Jimmy moved to the Upstate in 2005 along with his family and has been worshiping with Redeemer since that time. He has been working in the home building industry in a variety of capacities and now works as a consultant to home builders. Jimmy loves all things active and outdoors, from hiking and mountain biking to golf or frisbee golf. Though, if he had his druthers, he would just as soon sit on the back porch with his bride, a cup of afternoon french press, and a good book. Jimmy and Judy Kay have 6 children and a mutt and are always looking for the next adventure.
Henry and his wife Diane were married after meeting at Furman University. For many years, they lived in the suburban Washington D.C. area, where Henry worked as a civilian mechanical engineer at the U.S. Navy’s Ship Research and Development Center. Following their return to Travelers Rest, they became active members of Redeemer Presbyterian Church. Now retired, Henry can be found walking around the lake at Furman or up and down the Swamp Rabbit Trail. Otherwise, he spends his time listening to many different kinds of music, studying a variety of subjects, and writing articles for a Christian personal finance blog.
Director of Youth Ministry
Jason is a misplaced soul - he is a surfer living in the mountains. You can kinda tell that from the pic, right? A kind disposition, generous attitude, and patient grasp of the good news of Jesus mark Jason. He understands well what drives people away from, and to, the cross of Jesus in distrust and trust. He is willing to be vulnerable and able to be challenged so that he makes more of Christ than himself. When not playing Gaga Ball with our youth, he is hanging out with his sweet and beautiful wife, Lauren, and chasing his offspring, Bella, Roman, and Gia. We are so thankful that he oversees our youth ministry.
Have trouble understanding Twitter, Instagram, Facebook? Not Heather. She is our social media specialist, helping communicate the goings-on of Redeemer to the members and the world at large. Married to Scott and mother to 3M's (Mikey, Maddox, and McKenna), the carpool line becomes her office while she multi-tasks. Some know her by "Coach Karr," as she doubles as our Redeemer co-ed softball captain.
Raised a northern girl from Pennsylvania, Robin moved to South Carolina five years ago. Smart move! She and her husband, Matt, have two young children who all enjoy being outdoors and enjoying all things earthy. They are frequently drawn to the clear, clean mountain lakes and streams of our region for their getaways. We are thrilled to have her as a part of our Redeemer staff and team.
